We are committed to providing an inclusive space for all members of both organizations. We recognize that in choosing to move forward with our plans of hosting our convention in Florida, it is critical to offer the support our members need and to put their safety and security first. Many of you have reached out with these concerns and we want you to know that we hear you and share in your anger, fear, and frustration. We understand that your decision to attend our event may be directly affected by Florida’s current legal landscape as it pertains to several marginalized groups within our organizations, including our members of the LGBTQ+, immigrant, and BIPOC communities, as well as allies of these communities. Joint Statement Regarding 2023 National Convention Locationĭear Sisters and Brothers of Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi,Īs we continue to lay out our plans to host the 2023 biennial meeting of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, the National Leadership Teams have continued to monitor the legislative environment in the state of Florida, where our convention is set to take place in July. The biennial performance of the National Intercollegiate Band is one of the highlights of the National Convention. The Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma Commissioning Program, which has provided the NIB and the music community with many outstanding pieces of music, is the longest running program of its kind in the world. The NIB has been in existence for over 75 years and its success is due to the countless number of students who audition as well as the guest conductors who have participated over the years. One of the most exciting and worthwhile programs that Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma put on each biennium is the National Intercollegiate Band. Brothers and sisters have the opportunity to direct the future of the Fraternity and the Sorority through voting for new national leadership, participating in various workshops, and serving on a number of committees.

The Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma National Convention, held every two years, is an opportune time to share ideas and foster new ones, as well as strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.
